Infiniti Recalls 26,000 Vehicles Due to Airbag Tear
Infiniti recalls 26,000 vehicles after a test indicated airbag tear from internal pressure. Front passenger airbags airbag cushions were not properly folded.

Infiniti recalls 26,000 vehicles after a test indicated front passenger airbags could tear from internal pressure when they deploy.

Certain 2006-2008 FX35 and FX45 are involved in this recall.

Safety Recall Report 21V-139 reports recalls on certain 2006-2008 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 vehicles that received the front passenger-side airbag module as part of Takata airbag Recall Number 20V-008.

The Defect

Front passenger airbags could tear when they deploy. This is due to internal pressure from the airbag cushions failing to be folded properly.

The Remedy

Owners will be notified by mail beginning April 18 and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealership for free replacement of the front passenger airbag module.
