Safety Recall Report 21V-303 reports recalls on particular 2013-2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport SUVs.

The Defect

An electrical short in the Anti-lock Brake module may increase the risk of an engine compartment fire while parked or driving. The automaker believes that heat or humidity may be contributing to electrical shorts in the braking main controller board.

The Remedy

Hyundai recommends parking these vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall repairs are complete. Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module fuse.

The Defect

Improperly heat-treated piston rings may result in engine damage, leading to a stall and crash. Oil may also leak onto hot exhaust surfaces, increasing fire risk.

The Remedy

Enter your 17-digit VIN on the NHTSA’s website to determine whether your vehicle has any open recalls.

Owners will be notified by mail. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the engine free of charge.
