GM Recalls More Than 290,000 Chevrolet Cruze Sedans for Brake Failure

General Motors is recalling 292,879 2011-2012 Chevrolet Cruze compact sedans because the power assist for the brakes can fail due to a faulty switch. If the system fails, you can still stop the car, but you would have to apply much greater effort to the pedal to stop the car.  There have been 27 low-speed crashes and no injuries related to the brake problem. It will begin notifying owners to bring the cars in for dealers to replace the switch in the power brake vacuum pipe assembly.
