For weeks, Blue Bell Creameries have been recalling various varieties of its products off the shelves for Listeria contamination.
The company has now announced that it is recalling its entire line of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet and other frozen snacks because they all may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
After the company conducted an enhanced sampling program that revealed several positive tests for Listeria in different places and locations including five cases of Listeria in Kansas and three cases in Texas.
Blue Bell hopes said that customers who have recently purchased Blue Bell ice cream are urged to return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Food contaminated by listeria can lead to listeriosis, an infection that primarily affects elderly adults, young children, pregnant women and newborns.
