Honda is recalling 700,000 vehicles worldwide, 150,000 are in the U.S

Honda is recalling 2007 and 2008 model Fit subcompact hatchbacks. The recall is  because rain, snow or other moisture can seep threw the vehicle and damage the master switch located on the drivers door. This may cause the master switch to overheat and potentially start a fire.
In July Honda will be notifying owners and instructing them to take their vehicles to their local dealers to have a free inspection conducted. If the master switch is damaged it will be replaced free of charge. If the switch is not damaged an appointment will be made with the dealer to have a replacement switch installed for precautionary measures. This will also be done free of charge.
Owners may contact Honda for further information at 1-800-999-1009.
Honda’s recall number is JA6
