We would like to thank the Jacksonville local media for getting the word out about dangerous toys that made this year’s “10 Worst Toys” list.
World Against Toys Causing Harm (W.A.T.C.H.) reveals its “10 Worst Toys” list to bring attention to dangerous toys on store shelves. Each year I buy the toys on the list to demonstrate why they’re dangerous and remind gift givers what to look for when buying toys for their loved ones. News4Jax, First Coast News, Action News Jax and WJCT’s Melissa Ross of First Coast Connect covered the story.
What to Ask Yourself Before Buying a Toy
When evaluating toys, ask yourself – are the parts small enough to pose a choking hazard? Could they strangle? Are they sharp? Do they shoot, which could cause eye injuries? Are they too hard? Each year these same safety issues are represented by the toys making the “10 Worst Toys” list. With toy imports from around the globe and the Consumer Product Safety Commission unable to spot every dangerous toy, the onus is on consumers to make sure the toys that are intended to bring joy to their loved ones don’t instead bring harm.
