Florida’s Children First, a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the rights of at-risk children, appointed attorney Bruce Maxwell to its board of directors for 2016-2019.
“We are honored to have Bruce join our board of directors with his enthusiasm and support for our work for children in care,” said Christina Spudeas, FCF’s Executive Director.
Florida’s Children First is a statewide non-profit organization for at-risk children, dedicated to obtaining meaningful and sustainable improvement in Florida’s child welfare system, especially for children in foster care.
Maxwell served as co-chair of Florida’s Children First’s 2015 Child Advocacy Awards, and has served as past chair and host committee member of the Northeast Area Child Advocacy Awards & Reception.
He has been a Special Olympics sponsor for many years and has much experience with handicapped children, having raised a daughter with cerebral palsy.
Bruce also advocates for abused and neglected children, and is representing alleged victims of abuse and neglect in lawsuits against the National Deaf Academy, a Universal Health Services subsidiary facility.
