Board Certification: Civil Trial Law

Several Terrell • Hogan attorneys are board certified civil trial lawyers.  As do all Terrell • Hogan attorneys, they specialize in representing clients in personal injury and wrongful death cases.

Board certification evaluates attorneys’ special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice. Civil trial certification starts with having tried the required number of qualifying trials and passing a rigorous legal examination. It is The Florida Bar’s highest evaluation of attorneys’ competence and experience in one or more of the 24 areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida.

Board certified lawyers must demonstrate ability and experience in their fields and professionalism within the legal community. Because board certified civil trial lawyers are held to a higher standard, fewer than 2 percent are board certified.

Wayne Hogan and Jim Terrell were recognized by The Florida Bar for maintaining their civil trial board certification status since 1983.
