The Freed to Run is a six-day marathon relay series, where one Jacksonville attorney, Mike Freed, runs over 156 miles over six days.  Mr. Freed supports the partnership by running from Tallahassee to Jacksonville, from the Florida State Capitol to the Duval County Courthouse.  The partnership improves health and legal outcomes for low-income and vulnerable patients by providing the expertise of the medical providers and legal aid’s wealth of poverty law knowledge to help overcome obstacles faced by the children and their families.

The Fourth Annual Freed to Run event is taking place over November 16-21, 2021, and each day, other local philanthropists, like Bradley Bodiford, join Mr. Freed with his marathon challenges.  As a member of the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid board of directors, Bradley ran one leg of the journey alongside Mr. Freed and his fellow board members to support this great cause.

The Freed to Run is the flagship fundraising event for the partnership.  Thus far, the fundraiser has already raised over $1 million dollars, and this year, Baptist Health is offering a 125% match for all donations to further support the partnership.
