Terrell • Hogan Supports the JBA Seniors Gift Project

This holiday season, Terrell • Hogan has chosen to support our local community through the Jacksonville Bar Association and the Meals on Wheels program for seniors.  This holiday project is a partnership between the JBA, Meals on Wheels and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.  Every year, the JBA teams up with Meals on Wheels to provide Christmas gifts to hundreds of local home bound senior citizens.  For some seniors, the gifts through this program may be the only gifts that they receive for Christmas.
Terrell • Hogan staff members were matched with a senior in the Meals on Wheels program, and the staff member purchases a gift from the senior’s wish list. Bruce Maxwell, who participates in the yearly event said: “I especially look forward to seeing the joy in their eyes once they have opened the door and see you standing there with presents in hand.” Gift suggestions include some of the following:  electric blanket, slippers, robe and toaster oven.  Once the staff member purchases the gift, the staff member can either drop it off at the senior’s home or have it delivered by an officer from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. “The Senior Project is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season because it reminds us to focus on giving rather than just receiving,” said Chris Shakib.
Thanks to the participation of many in our firm these senior citizens are able to celebrate the holiday season.  Our staff did an outstanding job for our seniors this holiday season. We’re strongly committed to public service, and believe giving back to the community is an important part of our professional responsibility in helping to make Northeast Florida a better place to live.
