Pain Pumps

Pain pumps which dispense medication directly into the affected area of the body are popular.  Unfortunately, these pain pumps are used “off label” meaning that the pain pump was not certified by the FDA for this purpose.  In some cases using pain pumps to deliver pain medication into shoulders has resulted in Postarthroscopic Glenohumeral Chondrolysis (PAGCL), an extremely painful, debilitating condition resulting in a destruction of the patient’s shoulder cartilage.  Many patients who have undergone this procedure develop more advanced medical conditions requiring further surgeries and they do not realize that their condition may be the direct result of having pain medication delivered via this method.  If you believe you may have been injured in this manner, please call us for a free consultation.
