Megan Sowell

Megan Sowell brings her passion for justice and advocacy to Terrell Hogan Law, representing clients harmed by medical negligence. As a former Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, Megan prosecuted violent crimes, including homicides, and tried 20 jury trials to verdict. Her experience as a prosecutor honed her skills as a litigator and deepened her commitment to protecting her community.

Now, Megan uses her legal expertise to advocate for clients who have been injured by medical malpractice, ensuring they receive the justice and compensation they deserve.

A Commitment to Advocacy

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Megan is a proud seventh-generation Floridian. After graduating from Episcopal School of Jacksonville, she attended The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, where she was a four-year varsity letterman on the women’s Division I volleyball team.

During her time at The Citadel, Megan developed her leadership skills through multiple roles, including serving on the Honor Court. In this role, she prosecuted and judged Honor Code violations, embodying the college’s core values of integrity and accountability.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in English, Megan chose to pursue a career in law, believing it was the best way to support her community. She attended Florida State University College of Law, where she competed on the Mock Trial Team, further refining her courtroom advocacy skills.

Megan’s legal career reflects her unwavering commitment to protecting those who have been wronged. Whether advocating for crime victims as a prosecutor or representing clients harmed by medical negligence, Megan approaches every case with empathy, determination, and a relentless pursuit of justice.

Megan’s advocacy for her client’s rights does not end at the courtroom. She has testified in front of the Florida Legislature on matters specific to medical malpractice that would directly affect her clients.

Life Beyond the Law

Outside of the courtroom, Megan enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. A true Jacksonville native, she takes pride in giving back to the community that has always been her home.
