Patty Dodson Returns to State Attorney’s Office After Successfully Serving Jacksonville Consumers

It’s full circle for Terrell • Hogan partner Patty Dodson, who is returning to the State Attorney’s Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, where she began her legal career as a prosecutor in the repeat offender division and handled homicides before joining Terrell • Hogan in 1999. She was recruited to serve as a Managing Director and started her new position this week.

A Jacksonville native, Patty is a graduate of the University of North Florida and Nova University Law School. She is past president of the Jacksonville Women’s Lawyers Association (JWLA) and was chosen its Lawyer of the Year in 2011.
“We will miss Patty. She has been a cherished member of our team and an asset to our clients,” said Terrell • Hogan president, Wayne Hogan. Over the course of her legal career, Dodson has tried more than 70 jury trials, including representing personal injury and wrongful death victims in state and federal courts. “The skills that make her such a success in the courtroom combined with her expanded experience representing injured consumers will transfer well to her renewed role as a prosecutor. This will benefit the whole community,” Hogan said.
Terrell • Hogan has a tradition of sending experienced trial attorneys into the public sector where they serve the greater public good. Before Dodson, U.S. District Judge Brian J. Davis, went from Terrell • Hogan to become Chief Assistant State Attorney and Chris Hand was recruited from Terrell • Hogan by Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown to serve as his Chief of Staff.
Arrangements have been made to continue the representation that Patty Dodson had been providing for Terrell • Hogan clients. Building on Patty’s solid work, the transition is ongoing so clients’ cases advance promptly and effectively.
