The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Bridgeway International have recalled 91,000 men’s bicycles for chains that break and can cause riders to fall. The company has received 11 reports of faulty bicycle chains, nine of which resulted in rider injuries such as cuts and contusions.

The recall involves “NEXT” brand men’s 26-inch “hybrid” bicycles in red or orange. The bikes have “Power X” and “Suspension” printed on the frames and one of two model numbers: LBH2611M or LBH2611M2. (The bicycle’s model number is located on the frame between the pedals.)

The faulty bicycles were sold at Walmart from February 2011 through July 2011 for about $100.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycle and contact Bridgeway International (toll-free: 877–934-3228 Web:www.powerxbike.com for a free repair.
