Subaru and Mitsubishi Are Recalling Vehicles for Defective Takata Airbags

Takata Corporation has admitted that it also sold defective air bags to Subaru and Mitsubishi. Subaru has announced that it is recalling 8,500 2003-2004 Legacy, Outback and Baja cars. Mitsubishi is still investigating which vehicles need to be recalled. Mitsubishi and Subaru now join Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Ford, Chrysler and BMW in recalling over three million vehicles worldwide because of the defective Takata airbags. The risk is inflators can explode without warning and send metal shards at drivers and occupants; this can cause serious personal injuries or even deaths.
