Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 Recalled Due to Battery Fires and Explosions

Samsung is recalling millions of Galaxy Note 7 smartphone because defective lithium batteries may catch fire or explode.  There have been 35 reported incidents to date from around the world.  Samsung’s recent press release states: “In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note 7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue.”

What You Can Do

Owners can exchange their phones through their phone carrier plus get a $25 gift card or credit toward their phone bill.  The trade-ins can also be done at a Samsung store where the phone was purchased, or by calling 1-800-SAMSUNG.
