"Youth Explosion" Event a Success

Attorney Wayne Hogan was pleased to, again this year, support the efforts of Pastor Torin Dailey and the First Baptist Church of Oakland’s annual back to school, “Youth Explosion” event. In a short time, the event has grown from a community park to the Jacksonville Fair Grounds with more than 15,000 attendees and 65 corporate and community partners, including the Duval County School District represented by Superintendent Nikolai Vitti and School Board members. Hogan was introduced by Senator Audrey Gibson, who works with the Terrell • Hogan personal injury and wrongful death law firm. The City of Jacksonville was represented by Tony Hill and Mia Jones.
A partner in educating the community, including presentations about the dangers of distracted driving, attorney Hogan was delighted to help ensure children had what they needed as they headed back to school. First Baptist Church of Oakland has a long history of helping particularly eastside families focus on quality of life issues. “Youth Explosion” reaches well beyond the church walls, and the surrounding area, and helps children from all over the city.
The event is free and this year provided more than 4,000 backpacks, and hundreds of thousands of school supplies, and resource items for teachers. “Youth Explosion” serves the “whole child” and family with health and wellness booths, nutrition and medical plan information among many other resources.
