Back to School; Thank a Crossing Guard

As summer ends and kids prepare to head back to school, let’s make back-to-school safety our priority. Crossing guards protect the safety of children who walk or bicycle to school. For them, it’s important that drivers be conscious of their surroundings. Crossing guards do their best to make sure the kids are crossing the street safely and ensure that drivers are following the rules. Throughout the school year, crossing guards are vital in protecting our communities’ children.
Crossing guards and go above and beyond – in all kinds of weather – faced with all kinds of distracted drivers.  All while acting as educators to help teach children about pedestrian and traffic safety along the way.
The next time you see a crossing guard, remember all they do for our children. They put their lives at risk on a daily basis, so take a moment, waive and thank them. They deserve it!
